Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart. Clasp your hands together in front of you at chest height, with elbows bent. This is your starting position. Gently and in a controlled manner, swing your clasped hands to the one side, allowing your torso to follow the motion. Feel the stretch along the side and back of your torso. Return to the center and repeat the motion to the other side.
Common Mistakes
Avoid letting the hips sway excessively or twist with the motion – aim to keep them relatively stationary. Ensure that the rotation is originating primarily from the midsection and spine. Refrain from sudden or jerky movements, keeping everything smooth.
Breathing
Inhale as you swing your hands and rotate your torso to one side. Exhale as you bring your hands back to the center position. Follow this breathing pattern as you swing to the other side, ensuring you maintain deep, consistent breaths throughout the movement.
